After deciding to stop using the plumbing company that I had been using for many years, due too many recent bad experiences, I found A1 Sewer and Drain on the Thumbtack app. After sending them a message on Thumbtack, I received a call from A-1 within about 10 minutes. They scheduled a next day appointment for me. The next morning I got a text message from A-1 that the tech was on his way and it even included a photo of the tech, Matthew. Matthew was professional and polite. He got the small job done quickly. I appreciate the entire experience and customer service that I received from A-1 and will continue to use them in the future.

I had my slab lifted with push piers then filled with poly and this company came in a tad bit more expensive than some other companies however the quality and warranty made them worth the extra cost, which in my opinion is marginal, and their team was professional and explained everything so I knew what was going on during the process. I definitely recommend JES for your foundation repair needs. Huge thanks to the crew that did the repair for push piers it was Agustin G., Agustin L. and Eduardo L. Poly was Andrew F. and Steven S. Super professional they got in did their work and cleaned up great looks like no one was ever there.

We had a lot of hills we had to climb and plans to change but the JES team did it. They started the project, ran into some issues, and had to rewrite the plans. I made a few calls and management came out and the project was back on. Joseph “Joe” Palotas, Certified Field Inspector, and Nick Feaster, Sales Manager, did an amazing job of making sure we could continue the repairs when we hit a wall. Neither Joe nor Nick are scared to get their hands dirty. Nick even came out and explained in detail what needed to be done and put on his boot and went to work helping. The crew, Michael Burrell, Steve Marshall, and Nick Feaster are very nice, polite young men. They did an excellent job getting everything done in an acceptable time manner. When the project was complete they took the time to explain everything to me in great detail. Very happy with the service JES provided.

Very appreciate of the work done to solve water issues in my basement. Antoine Gant, Gerald Peoples, and Troy Griffin did a phenomenal job installing a drainage system and pump. Along with the installation work, they also helped clear all the sandbags away from the work area. I’m thankful for their willingness to go above and beyond the scope of the job. It was a huge help. They were tidy, patient, and open to answering any questions I had. After they were done they gave me very specific instructions on how to manage the work area. No complaints at all about the work these gentleman did in my home! Blessings.

JES reinforced and straightened a long, sagging load-bearing beam in my basement. Their crew was excellent: Freddy ******** (team lead), Walter ******** and Daniel ******* English was their second language but that was not a problem at all. They were skillful, fast and very polite. They were also detail oriented and extremely patient when I asked questions and suggested small changes during the process. They also isolated the work area with plastic sheets, protected my floors with anti-slip coverings and cleaned afterwards. They used high-quality, extra strong materials. Now my home's floor is flatter and feels much more rigid, which is great. My only minor concerns are that before the crew came, some of my calls to their office remained unanswered, and also they didn't bring the right beam when they came the first time, but they corrected it quicly. My family and I are very happy with the results.

We had our seasonal inspection done by JES today. Andre McDuffie was my service technician and he was excellent! He identified the concerns we had and did his best to correct. He made it very understandable as to why we were having the concerns we do. He will be putting a proposal and price together for the work that needs to be done after discussing it with his manager. Andre is a true credit & and strong asset to JES.

I've now had JES complete two projects in my exposed crawlspace. Both times, they have added adjustable jacks on top of footers and either replaced a main beam or added a supplemental metal I Beam. I've been extremely impressed with their quality of work, timeliness, and efficiency. They show up ready to work and are sure to ask questions if needed. Mr. Rudy Gonzale, Superintendant at the JES in Bristow, VA, came to our rescue when my husband and I called about a foundation water problem. Rudy showed up in a very timely manner. He was very polite, professional, and very knowledgeable. He explained things in a way in which we could understand what was going on with the issue we were experiencing. Rudy listened to and understood our concerns and in a very professional manner he demonstrated empathy and assurance that everything will be alright. Even though my husband and I had never met Rudy before we felt he treated us like he would a family member. Rudy was a blessing to us. He was true to his word that "Everything would be alright". I highly recommend Rudy and his team who assisted us in resolving our problem. We could go on and on about Rudy with the highest accolades because the words Thank You to Rudy doesn't seem adequate.

I posted a complaint about 4 months ago regarding an issue I was having with the system installed by JES a few years ago. I want to provide an update. The JES team of Rick, Matt, Dalton, Davonte, and especially JR, we're excellent in resolving the issue. They effectively evaluated the situation, took ownership of the problem, and quickly established a plan to remedy the situation. They were efficient in executing their plan and I am beyond satified with the end results. Everyone exemplified professionalism, were courteous, and respectful. JR's follow up was on point and I am so glad that he was spearheading the effort. Thank you JES. You definitely exceeded my expectations.

Couldnt be happier with the project quality and communication from the workers on sight. The crawl space encapsulation looked very meticulously combed over and done with care and skill, the drain lines dug outside were also done with superb quality but the highlight of the project was without a doubt the workers. Reed Norvell, Charles Simmons, and Darin Harris were incredible workers that were extremely polite and transparent about the state of the job as they relayed regular updates. They were all hospitable, and great at making sure we actively understood what was going on every step of the way not to mention how pleasent and enjoyable they were to talk to. Even with a project this vital and expensive its really the quality of the people and how much you can tell they are putting in that make it a great job and these three workers were truly great, really could not ask for more.

JES Foundation Repair had the lowest pricing and the fastest response time–and I consulted with several other waterproofing companies that said there's no way any company would do the job at that price! I hired JES Foundation to waterproof the exterior of my home and install a crawlspace dehumidifier. The crew of Henry A. Portillo, Jose Rubio, and Jose R. Garcia did a great job of digging down to my footers, putting membrane and drain tile, and then backfilling the exterior. We had some miscommunication about the scope of the work, but Rudy made sure to send another crew and get the work done exactly as I expected it. And then Rudy sent both a mason and a handyman to fix any damage that was done by the Bobcat. I'd highly recommend JES Foundation Repair.

My field inspector Rick Smith drove 2 1/2 hours and then spent 3 hours with me fully inspecting my foundation and explaining every detail of the process and educating me along the way. I felt like he really cared and wasn’t just trying to sell me the most expensive product. Because I felt so comfortable with Rick, I feel confident that JES is going to go above and beyond in repairing my foundation and protecting my home.

We've used JES in the Richmond metro area twice in the past five years and have been very pleased with their work on both projects. In November 2019, they installed two push piers under a corner of our mid-1960s house that was sinking and installed a CrawlSeal encapsulation system in the crawl space. In September 2024, they installed a steel I-beam and two engineered jacks in the crawl space under a fireplace hearth that didn't have adequate support. Both projects involved working very close to the residential gas line. In both projects, the work was done very well and completed on schedule. Each employee has been professional, knowledgeable, hard-working, and very pleasant to deal with. On the most recent project, Cameron Flynn, lead jack installer, and John Trak, certified field inspector, were terrific. We trust JES employees and will not hesitate to call on them if we need them in the future.

Thank heaven for JES! Not only did they discover our sump pump had stopped working long ago, but they also recognized the work needed would be beyond just swapping out a pump. The intake lines had clogged and the tank was filled to the brim with unspeakable creepy black gunk. Other companies estimates didn’t include full removal of the crud or clearing intake/outflow lines. Then Ben, the installer arrived. He was 120% professional, respectful, eager, and friendly…even when he found a dead frog floating on the surface of the goop! You can tell that Ben really loves his work. It was joyful to witness his tenacity in getting that tank completely clean even though it took twice as long as was probably expected. And then near the end of the job, when verifying the lines were clear, another frog appeared. This time the frog was alive. Undaunted, Ben rescued and removed it. Throughout the process Ben inspired confidence in the quality and thoroughness of the work to be performed. I would recommend JES from beginning of the estimate process, scheduling communications, through job complete.

Our 18 year old basement was filling with rain water more and more as time went on as much as 2 1/2 feet of water, so after seeing the Evergreen/JES commercials many time's we decided to give them a call, Our initial meet and greet was with Jack Hill, the appointment was at our convenience and Jack was exactly on time, seriously nice guy right from the start, we sat down and he explained everything in plan English, no fancy technical stuff like others would throw at you, we then went outside and looked around the foundation and then we went into the basement for him to take measurements, he took his time and I feel he did everything right, we then go back upstairs to discuss our options, he was not pushy trying to sell me what we didn't need, after the job there crew finished, which was an awesome job Jack followed up with me to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction, It's been 1 1/2 years since the job was completed and Jack continues to follow up with me to make sure everything is still good, AND OUR BASEMENT CONTINUES TO STAY DRY AFTER ALL THE MAJOR FLOODING RAINS WE HAD THIS YEAR!!!!!

This five star review is for Ethan Mooney, the JES repair person who recently helped us with our JES project. Over 6 months after having JES complete installing a liner, dehumidifier and pump under our family room addition, we still noticed water. The service repair person, Ethan Mooney, recently came and found that the pump was never plugged in! Ethan was professional and not only fixed that easy problem but installed new equipment and inspected the liner. He was wonderful.

Jeronmy and Willie we're outstanding! Jeronmy, as the lead technician, was extremely knowledgeable and thorough and they worked very well together as a team. I had a simple preventive maintenance procedure to have my water heater flushed, but with their amazing customer service, extensive knowledge base and delightful personalities, I think I will request them for any future Plumbing work I may require. I have had A1 provide service for a few issues now and they truly live up to their name, I have yet to have a bad experience.

We had our basement walls repaired and a water management system installed in our home over 16 years ago and it is still as good as the day JES installed it. Jay Hyman was our sales rep back then and still works at JES, now as a professional inspector. For the first time in 16 years, I recently reached out to JES to get copies of our old paperwork and Jay and the receptionist at the Manassas office were very friendly and super helpful. Our house was starting to make noises and I noticed drywall cracks. At first I assumed this was from my dinosaur footed stomping children but these symptoms kept getting worse and so I decided it was time to start researching options. After a few google searches and reviews I reached out to JES and a few competitors. Mike Mele came out and sat with me and I explained to him what we were experiencing. He walked me around the house and showed me what was happening and where. He tested with a laser level and proved that the back side of our house was sinking and then we went into the crawl space. Mike inspected all of the support beams and showed me exactly where there was separation from the beams and how it was affecting the house. I was given a presentation of what JES could and would do. Mike explained to me that their system does not guarantee the house being level, but that the house would not sink any further. Price was fair compared to competitors, and after being offered a 3 year maintenance plan, I requested adding the 5 year maintenance plan instead. JES said they would contact me every 6 months to slowly adjust the jack beams as needed. Deposit paid, contract signed. Permitting took around a month or so. I have nothing nice to say about the county I live in. They are slow and as they are government entities, inherently and completely inept. I was put on the schedule after a few follow up emails between JES and myself. Install was hopefully a 2 day period, IF, the county finished inspections. Day 1 of install, our installer, foreman Abdul Kargbo came out and got to work. He was ready by the afternoon with intentions of the inspector coming the next day to confirm the footer digs were correct. Next day, a Friday the inspector never came, even though he was scheduled, and the crew sat all day and did nothing all day waiting for him to come. Tuesday, the inspector finally came, albeit late, and approved the footers and Tuesday Abdul and Roman came back to do the work. They worked well into the evening to finish the job. Abdul requested a review and I told him that once the final inspection was approved, I would give one. I IMMEDIATELY noticed a difference in the way the floors felt and sounded. Items that were prone to shaking in cabinets were no longer making noise. Floor creaks that were annoying, but that we had gotten used to were gone. The house felt far more sturdy. My kids incessant stomping no longer shook pictures on the wall. The next day I called Mike back to let him know how everything went and that I was happy. I asked him about the final inspection timeline. Mike asked for a review and I told him the same thing I told Abdul. Once final was approved I would do so. Here begins frustrations for us. I don't hold JES entirely responsible for this however because the county staffed with government workers, I think JES could have been more aggressive on our behalf with the county. I understand JES has a delicate relationship with the counties and have to balance customer expectations with the ability to continue to operate at the behest of the counties they operate within. The county claimed they didn't have an engineering letter. These are basically liability transfers that keep the county inspectors from putting their necks on the line, but still enable to to collect the money. Within the packet that was posted to my door were all the engineering packet that showed the math, plans and a letter with a certification stamp. We had to go back and forth with JES and the county ourselves to get this moving faster. I do not believe the county didn't have this letter, or at bare minimum have enough to approve the project. I do know the county is inept. County approved the project in spite of them saying they didn't have plans. Which were included in the packet taped to my door. Due to my disgust with government, JES still gets a 5 star, regardless of the frustrations we had to deal with. Thanks Mike, Abdul and all the JES crew. It was great working with you. See you in 6 months for the check up!

I had forman Charles and installers Hunter, Ricco, and Rock come out and encapsulate my crawl space today. The guys were prompt, professional, and very polite! I highly recommend their work (they need a drone to help with photos in tight crawlspaces like mine lol). This is a huge expensive project, but a heck of an investment. Dont hire your cousin to do this job (the previous owner of my house did this, my floors sag and i had mold on my joists), hire professionals, I highly recommend the JES crew. I will tell all my friends to go with JES if they have foundation issues. 10 out of 10! Thanks again guys!!!

Andre Williams from JES did a long-overdue and much needed inspection of my crawlspace upgrade done by JES. My crawlspace entrance is not very big and can be challenging. I do not feel comfortable attempting to crawl down there! He made sure that the sump pumps and air-handler were all plugged-in and operating—replacing the back-up battery, which was dead. He is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and efficient—I am so grateful to know that everything is working smoothly.
