Thank heaven for JES! Not only did they discover our sump pump had stopped working long ago, but they also recognized the work needed would be beyond just swapping out a pump. The intake lines had clogged and the tank was filled to the brim with unspeakable creepy black gunk. Other companies estimates didn’t include full removal of the crud or clearing intake/outflow lines. Then Ben, the installer arrived. He was 120% professional, respectful, eager, and friendly…even when he found a dead frog floating on the surface of the goop! You can tell that Ben really loves his work. It was joyful to witness his tenacity in getting that tank completely clean even though it took twice as long as was probably expected. And then near the end of the job, when verifying the lines were clear, another frog appeared. This time the frog was alive. Undaunted, Ben rescued and removed it. Throughout the process Ben inspired confidence in the quality and thoroughness of the work to be performed. I would recommend JES from beginning of the estimate process, scheduling communications, through job complete.

Jay came out to my house to conduct a free estimate to see if some of the cracks in my foundation were symptomatic of a larger problem, or were anything to worry about. He was very professional, took some measurements – including with a laser level – and looked around for any additional signs of a foundation issue. He took the time to explain things to me, and really helped me understand my foundation, terminology, and things to watch for! He helped to point out that I wasn't in any danger from the issues I saw, and gave me helpful advice on ways to make sure it stays that way! Would highly recommend JES to anyone (and would come back to them if I ever have any other issues), but especially would recommend to first time homeowners who have questions and want a straight up and honest answer on their issues!

I had JES Foundation Repair out for an estimate on a drainage issue. While showing the problem, we discovered a separate plumbing issue, water leaking out of the wall. Jason didn’t hesitate to jump in, diagnose it, and fix it even though it wasn’t part of the original job. I didn’t expect that, and I appreciated it. He was professional, easy to work with, and the solution he recommended for the concrete seemed well thought out and reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

JES is just fantastic! I experienced water coming through my basement walls after two bad rainstorms last September; JES sales representative Adam Crall came later that month to generate a thorough estimate for waterproofing. JES was able to schedule the work for the three days before Thanksgiving. Foreman John Rector and crew members Darrin and Paibai were OUTSTANDING! They were very accommodating and understanding, patient with me who was very apprehensive about jackhammers in the basement (and about the dust potential!). They cleaned up thoroughly! Worth the expense! I recommend them without hesitation!

He explained the repair process and guarantee very well and worked with us to develop a logical repair plan. Once the job was scheduled and that date arrived, the install crew of Jaime Castillo, Joel Larios, and Cesar Zafra came and immediately went to work. They were very organized and performed in a very efficient manner. They were patient and provided excellent feedback for my questions of this fascinating process. JES reinforced and straightened a long, sagging load-bearing beam in my basement. Their crew was excellent: Freddy ******** (team lead), Walter ******** and Daniel ******* English was their second language but that was not a problem at all. They were skillful, fast and very polite. They were also detail oriented and extremely patient when I asked questions and suggested small changes during the process. They also isolated the work area with plastic sheets, protected my floors with anti-slip coverings and cleaned afterwards. They used high-quality, extra strong materials. Now my home's floor is flatter and feels much more rigid, which is great. My only minor concerns are that before the crew came, some of my calls to their office remained unanswered, and also they didn't bring the right beam when they came the first time, but they corrected it quicly. My family and I are very happy with the results.

We had an enlightening experience from technician Johnnie Geronimo today. Through his thorough investigation, we were able to get answers to our questions and we signed up for the bulk project to get started right away. I would highly suggest Johnnie to anyone that needs help with complicated floor structural issues. This is an older 1960's home and past repairs were insufficient to todays standards. We are excited now to have the structural repairs addressed so that we can install the hardwood after JES has completed their project. Thank you again Johnnie. You are excellent at what you do! My experience with Groundworks was great. My project involved releveling segments of a large patio and driveway area that had experienced settling and cracking at some of the joints and across some of the pads. Tommy came out and inspected the job, informed me of the process and the expected end result. The 5 yr warranty on the work sold me! After accepting the quote and scheduling the work the crew, Alex Campbell, Manny E and Damien A arrived onsite on time and we got started. Most notable for me was how the crew involved me and communicated with me throughout the entire job. They were professional, knowledgeable and polite. We started with a site inspection and discussed my expectations, then they filed me in on the process and then got to work. At every critical juncture of the job they engaged me to ensure my satisfaction with process and result. At the end of the day they exceeded all of my expectations and I was very satisfied with the result. I was so impressed with the work that while onsite we added to the scope of the job and they reinforced another slab in another area of the yard to ensure the location would hold up to the increased loading. I would highly recommend Groundworks for your concrete leveling job!

When we decided to sell our house who knew it would come with so many problems! You find so many things you never noticed and one of those things I noticed was some cracks in the bricks. Called a brick guy and he just wanted to hide it with mortar, but did say I should check my foundation. So I called one company and they tried to rip me off with inflated prices because I’m female. So, I decided a second opinion was necessary. The second company I called was JES Foundation because everyone kept dropping their name. I was wary about calling them because I was afraid it would be too expensive. Man was I wrong. Not only were the prices comparable to the other company I called, they wanted to do it right! The contract actually had a layout of the actual work they would be doing(the other company did not include that!) and when they said they would be here at 8am they were here!!! On time? Augustine and his crew were so great. Professional, caring of my yard and dedicated to their work. I also want to thank Brian Perrin for his inspection and the photos he sent me of my crawlspace. Now at this point you can tell I’m impressed with this company. To say they blew me away is an understatement. I think the moral of my long post is hire the best to get the best. These guys are the best! Thank you JES and your great team.

Our foundation repair work was completed more quickly than expected. Rafael Garcia Lopez, Luis Rivera, and Luis David Palma did an excellent job cleaning after the job. Supervisor, Moises Paz, sent photos and updates throughout the process so we knew what was happening outside. We had a hard time finding a company to do this work and would definitely recommend them.

After needing to fix a crack in our foundation that was leaking water into the basement we did our due diligence and scouted several estimates. We opted for JES with Rudy Gonzalez and Jose Reyes undertaking the task to complete the repairs. From the moment we met Rudy and Jose they were professional, attentive , and ensured I understood the work prior to starting any repairs. They explained each step of the multi step process and encouraged me to take pictures at each milestone. As the repairs came to a completion Rudy and Jose left the worksite cleaner than when they arrived and put professional touches on the freshly poured concrete. The personnel at JES Foundation Repair Ashland were consummate professionals from the beginning of the process to the end. Our 90-plus-year-old house was sinking by 2" in its middle, so it was imperative that we right the foundation. Tice, utilizing high-tech equipment, assiduously inspected our house for a full four hours, going through every possible detail in a comprehensive and fully comprehensible way–including his offering of affordable financing. In addition, he kept in contact with us every step of the way, patiently answering our multitudinous queries and most importantly aiding us in navigating the permitting process through Albemarle county. Roberto and Oscar, who did the install of a dozen beams and a sump pump, were highly knowledgeable, had numerous years of experience, and worked tirelessly in their doing of a superior job on site; they also did a nice job of cleaning up on the last day. Materials were of the highest quality–there was no cutting corners with JES. All went seamlessly from the beginning of the process to its culmination. I have no reservations whatsoever about JES Foundation and the work they did, and would unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone–the peace of mind they brought us, knowing that our house's foundation is once again stable, is priceless.

JES did a great job fixing our front porch. It had begun to settle and sloped towards the house, which allowed water to leak into our basement during heavy rains. JES lifted the front porch and adjoining sidewalk and filled in some significant voids with the poly foam. They finished it off with some nice sanded caulk that looks much better than what was there before. Time will tell if the problem has been fixed. Will update the review after the next storm to see if the basement stays dry. All the employees from JES were friendly and professional, communicated well what to expect, and cleaned up after themselves. Working with this company has been a great experience. A note to potential customers: there is a $1600 job minimum for them to come out. Our original problem probably would have been less than that, but they inspected the sidewalk and foundation to see what spots needed improvement that they could add to the job to get us up to the minimum amount. I called another company that does similar work and they had a similar job minimum amount. We feel this was money well spent to solve our leaking basement problem, and we would have had to spend a similar amount with another company anyway.

I had an issue with what I thought was an awful leak behind my vanity. I called on Friday LATE afternoon, and the sweet receptionist Jorden was very empathetic and was able to get me seen within a day. Lee was AMAZING. He knew everything and was able to recreate the noises I heard and reassure this busy mom here that does nothing but worry that we didn't have an issue. He went into details over and over for me, and was so patient and so nice. I will never hire another company other than these guys. They gave me not only my peace of mind back, but they're the real deal, and very down to Earth. Incredible service!!!!

JES Foundation Repair was the most responsive, professional, and customer service oriented of all the companies I reached out to for quotes. Mack came to inspect the job and was more thorough than I was. He took the time to explain the company and the procedure, while inviting any questions I had. Once the contract was signed and the job scheduled, Bryan and Chris came to do the concrete work. They also asked if we had any questions and let us know what we could expect as a result. They took care of the job in less than an hour. We're very happy with the entire process and the results!

The waterproofing system the JES guys (Antwan, Brandon and Shawn) installed for us is A#1. The guys worked their butts off and kept me up to date on what was going on with the project. From the beginning of the project, Celeste explained the entire sequence of events during the sales stage and kept in touch as the job went along from leveling the cement patio and sidewalk, removing the cement flooring, installing stones, tracking and sump pump discharge line. Damon T came up with a convincing sales pitch, and we were impressed by the thoroughness of the plan. We ended up declining one small portion of Damon's original plan – after consultation with Tash and his team during the installation process. The company took the full price off our bill. The crew of Tash, Justin, Maurice, and Drew were highly professional in their 2-day stint at our house waterproofing the basement. Very pleased with how they answered our questions. The team had a disagreement with another part of the original sales plan, but their plan ended with a much better solution for our basement. The original plan had the bottom of our carpeted stairs to be torn up, but crew leader Tash had a much less destructive action plan. We are very impressed by the way they tunneled the drains from room to room with little or no extra destruction. The team also worked very hard both days, taking very few breaks and maximizing their time here.Our only suggestion would be for the original salesperson to have either face to face or telephone discussion with the work team leader prior to the team coming out. What is projected on paper may not always be the easiest plan to carry out. Tash made many good points that led to a better final product from our perspective.All in all, we were pleased with this company's product, from Damon's sales pitch to Tash's team's installation. Great guys all, friendly, professional, and very polite! Thanks for a great experience!
