Evergreen Basement Systems Merges with JES Foundation Repair

Appomattox, VA (July 11, 2016) – Evergreen Basement Systems, Inc. (Evergreen) announced today that it has merged with another Virginia-based company JES Foundation Repair (JES). Both privately owned family businesses were established in 1993 and specialize in residential and commercial foundation repair, crawl space moisture control, and basement waterproofing.

Shauna and Bob Parsons took the reins of Evergreen Basement Systems from Shauna’s father, Chuck Warner, after his retirement in 2001. The Parsons have grown Evergreen from its original location in Appomattox throughout Southwest Virginia, including the Roanoke Valley, the Shenandoah Valley, Piedmont, the New River Valley, and the Appalachian regions.

Jesse Waltz, P.E., who co-founded JES with his wife Stella, started his company in northwest Maryland. Waltz expanded the business throughout Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, and North Carolina over the last 23 years. In 2015 the company partnered with Succession Capital Partners and brought on Matt Malone as Chief Executive Officer. JES has grown nearly 20% annually and posted over $35 million in gross revenue in 2015.

The new Appomattox office will be added to JES’ three other locations in Virginia, including Virginia Beach, VA, Chester, VA, and Manassas, VA. The merger with Evergreen extends JES’ service area throughout the entire state.

Jesse and Stella have been friends and business associates with Shauna and Bob Parsons for nearly 15 years. “The merger is part of the plan to take JES to the next level,” Jesse said. “It will solidify our market share throughout the entire state of Virginia.”

Evergreen and JES have similar stories, another reason, Jesse explained, why the merger would be a great fit. “Their story is much like ours… a small family business that has grown over the last 23 years to become the leading service provider in the region.” Shauna added, “It’s great that we’re growing into a world-class company while retaining the personal focus to service that a small family business offers.” The addition of JES will provide Evergreen with new capital and resources, including professional engineers on staff.

Shauna Parsons will continue as Branch Manager of the Appomattox office. Jesse Waltz, P.E., co-owner of JES and Matt Malone, CEO, will oversee and support the merger to assure a seamless union of the two companies. Evergreen will eventually transition its logo, marketing materials, trucks and sales support collateral to the JES brand over the next several months.
