JES Foundation Repair Partners with Habitat for Humanity

This year, the team at JES Foundation Repair (JES) partnered with Habitat for Humanity. As part of the companywide Build Together 2024 initiative, employees assisted in home builds for members of the local communities.

JES’s parent company, Groundworks, donated $100,000 Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the country to support long-term stability through safe and affordable housing. Part of the Goodworks by Groundworks program, this partnership gives 5,000 employees the chance to volunteer in 63 communities throughout the year.

Baltimore

JES employees in Baltimore volunteered their time on June 5 with the Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake. Eight JES team members spent the day at an existing home tackling a list of outdoor tasks that included shoveling mulch, laying down grass, planting shrubs and more. Their efforts were featured in The Avenue News

HFH of the Chesapeake was grateful for the team’s help ahead of their 800th home dedication.

Roanoke

Our Roanoke team members teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Roanoke Valley for a deserving homeowner. Volunteers were responsible for framing the flooring system and digging the foundation for the new home on April 6.

“It is a blessing to have local businesses work with us to provide safe, affordable homeownership to a neighbor. The young family that will be purchasing the home at 506 Chestnut is very excited for this security. The JES volunteers were a pleasure for our construction staff to work with and we look forward to hosting them again in the future.” -Gina Dunnavant, HFHRV Volunteer Manager

Manassas

In October, the Manassas team deployed volunteers to a ramp build hosted by Loudoun Habitat for Humanity. Employees spent the day in Lovettsville building a handicap accessible ramp for an existing Habitat for Humanity homeowner. Eight dedicated volunteers were grateful for the opportunity to make a difference for someone in their local community.

Richmond

Five team members from the Richmond branch partnered with Hanover and King William Habitat for Humanity on October 18. JES volunteers built framing for a concrete driveway that would be poured in the coming weeks.

Virginia Beach

Habitat for Humanity of South Hampton Roads had nine JES employees at their build site on September 20. Volunteers worked on the exterior of a complete home renovation by removing damaged siding and placing cinderblocks for an extension. JES team members were working on the renovation in conjunction with employees from their sister company, A1 Sewer & Drain.
