The personnel at JES Foundation Repair Ashland were consummate professionals from the beginning of the process to the end. Our 90-plus-year-old house was sinking by 2" in its middle, so it was imperative that we right the foundation. Tice, utilizing high-tech equipment, assiduously inspected our house for a full four hours, going through every possible detail in a comprehensive and fully comprehensible way–including his offering of affordable financing. In addition, he kept in contact with us every step of the way, patiently answering our multitudinous queries and most importantly aiding us in navigating the permitting process through Albemarle county. Roberto and Oscar, who did the install of a dozen beams and a sump pump, were highly knowledgeable, had numerous years of experience, and worked tirelessly in their doing of a superior job on site; they also did a nice job of cleaning up on the last day. Materials were of the highest quality–there was no cutting corners with JES. All went seamlessly from the beginning of the process to its culmination. I have no reservations whatsoever about JES Foundation and the work they did, and would unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone–the peace of mind they brought us, knowing that our house's foundation is once again stable, is priceless.

Even after we determined that the service I was looking for isn’t a service JES provides and I felt like I had wasted his time he remained professional and pleasant and assured me it was no trouble and he was happy to take a look around while he was here to see if there were any concerns that he could inform me about.Although I won’t be using this company for this project, I am pleased with experience and will definitely consider JES for future needs if they arise.(the service I was wanting: to have an egress window cut into the basement foundation)Update 12/7/22 – Bradley just called me and informed me that he found someone who may be able to help with the egress window. The JES Team was fantastic! They accomplished encapsulation of 2 crawl spaces and installed a sump pump in the basement. Brian S.managed a great crew with Gio O.and David B. And added Cameron and Truman for a couple days. Brian showed me and explained what they accomplished each step of the way! They worked meticulously and cleaned up each day! They were informative, trustworthy, careful, and very pleasant to deal with! Jerry W, the electrician was great, too! We were very pleased to have JES accomplish this priority job for our home.

Damon T came up with a convincing sales pitch, and we were impressed by the thoroughness of the plan. We ended up declining one small portion of Damon's original plan – after consultation with Tash and his team during the installation process. The company took the full price off our bill. The crew of Tash, Justin, Maurice, and Drew were highly professional in their 2-day stint at our house waterproofing the basement. Very pleased with how they answered our questions. The team had a disagreement with another part of the original sales plan, but their plan ended with a much better solution for our basement. The original plan had the bottom of our carpeted stairs to be torn up, but crew leader Tash had a much less destructive action plan. We are very impressed by the way they tunneled the drains from room to room with little or no extra destruction. The team also worked very hard both days, taking very few breaks and maximizing their time here.Our only suggestion would be for the original salesperson to have either face to face or telephone discussion with the work team leader prior to the team coming out. What is projected on paper may not always be the easiest plan to carry out. Tash made many good points that led to a better final product from our perspective.All in all, we were pleased with this company's product, from Damon's sales pitch to Tash's team's installation. Great guys all, friendly, professional, and very polite! Thanks for a great experience!

Rob was so helpful and thorough guiding us in the areas that needed attention. Fantastic and efficient alternative to pouring new concrete to fix trip hazards and back filling holes to deter rodents. I have had a great experience with JES! It started with my annual inspection with Joey Guth who did the inspection and he found a couple of issues! He showed me pictures and explained the solutions! He also presented me with an estimate for the repairs! Once I accepted the estimate! It was only a couple of weeks before JES could get the permits and a crew ready to. One do the work. The crew was Luis and Jose! They showed up on time and were very courteous and respectful to my concerns. Luis showed me pictures of the work and was able to explain exactly what they had done to stabilize the foundation of my house! They left my yard clean! I am very pleased with JES and the employees that I interacted with!

On June 20th I met an inspector named Michael Riskin who came to my house to complete a foundation inspection. The initial problem was my step was cracked and falling apart. I was afraid to walk upstairs. After the the inspection was done I informed his company could not complete the repairs but he didn’t just say I am done we can’t do the repairs. He took the time to explain the problem and gave me a solution with another company. I felt so comfortable and confident about moving forward with my next step with the help from Micheal. That’s not it he also gave me some advice about safe and fixing my steps on my deck in which this was not part of his job. He did not know I had no idea how to go about fixing or get started with anything repairing of those stairs. He took the out of his schedule to text me the size and kind of nails to get and how far to go so I would not cause any more problems. Michael think you for being a caring person to a stranger who need help in more ways the knew. Thank you so kindly.

I just received a visit from Inspector Andre Williams. I was happy to receive a text message to confirm the arrival time. I also received an arrival text. This heads up allowed me the opportunity to move my feisty dog to another room. Andre's visit was due to a request I put in for a warning signal that has been repeating for the last week. Andre explained the reason for the signal, and immediately resolved the problem. That definitely put me at ease. Thank you so much Andre. The signal was driving me crazy, but now I feel sanity returning. Wonderful!

Our front walkway had separated and sunk down from the driveway edge due to years of settlement helped by water run off from some downspouts. JES Foundation Repair was the most responsive, professional, and customer service oriented of all the companies I reached out to for quotes. Mack came to inspect the job and was more thorough than I was. He took the time to explain the company and the procedure, while inviting any questions I had. Once the contract was signed and the job scheduled, Bryan and Chris came to do the concrete work. They also asked if we had any questions and let us know what we could expect as a result. They took care of the job in less than an hour. We're very happy with the entire process and the results!

Jeswork was really great. The construction engineer took photos of my crawlspace and explained in detail their recommendations and the cost and financing. The work team was excellent and explained what they did each day and showed pictures. They found termites and got in contact with a pest contractor before the encapsulation when my termite contractor failed to come and treat the termites.

Awesome! JES was the only company that was going to permit and have the county inspect their work. Top notch quality and the best value compared to other contractors that bid non permitted work. They fixed my sinking sidewalk and moldy crawlspace. The floors are warm all winter long and the house smells clean and fresh. Nick Feaster was a great inspector. He seemed new at this job but was well trained and personable. 100% would recommend!

I want to recognize Chris Jones with JES for providing one of the most thorough and professional home inspections I have ever experienced. I purchased my home in 2019, and since then I have been trying to solve a persistent HVAC-related problem. My home inspection identified the HVAC system as an area of concern, so I had it serviced, inspected, and cleaned before moving in. Despite that, the evaporator coils continued freezing. I hired one HVAC contractor, who found nothing wrong. When the problem persisted, I hired a second HVAC contractor after the coils froze again. I was again told everything appeared normal and was advised to keep the return vents clear and change the filter regularly. Over time, I also began noticing excessive humidity on the lower level after heavy rains, along with a mildew smell at the bottom of my stairs. The upper level remained cool and properly dehumidified, so I began to suspect the crawlspace. That's when I called JES and met Chris Jones. Before he even entered the crawlspace, Chris took the time to listen carefully to everything I had experienced over the years. He then invited me to accompany him during the inspection, explaining what he was seeing and educating me about the crawlspace as we went. Rather than rushing through the inspection, he methodically evaluated each area and answered my questions. The most significant findings were beneath the air handler. Chris discovered active moisture from a leaking return duct, a disconnected duct near the air handler with mold growth, and a dripping condensate line. These issues had gone undetected despite multiple previous HVAC inspections. What's even more impressive is that this was one of the tightest areas of the crawlspace—roughly 2½ to 3 feet high—yet Chris crawled into it, documented everything with photographs, and shared them with me. He didn't stop there. After I mentioned another area of concern, he willingly investigated it as well. Together we removed part of a wall covering and uncovered additional issues that otherwise would have remained hidden. At the end of the visit, Chris told me he wasn't sure JES would be able to help with all of the problems I had uncovered. What he didn't realize was that he already had. He found the root causes that I had been searching for since buying my home. Chris demonstrated something that is becoming increasingly difficult to find: integrity. He never tried to sell me something I didn't need. He simply performed an exceptionally thorough inspection, educated me throughout the process, and gave me the information I needed to finally understand what was happening in my home. Ironically, the most disappointing part of the experience was that I wasn't able to pay him for the level of expertise and effort he provided. I thought I was scheduling a crawlspace inspection, but what I received was one of the most valuable diagnostic inspections I've had in seven years. Thank you, Chris Jones. Your professionalism, persistence, and integrity are a tremendous asset to JES.
