Common Drywall Cracks & Warning Signs

Drywall cracks are one of the most common signs that you have foundation problems. Cracks will appear around door frames, in the ceiling, in corners and along the wall. If you notice multiple cracks then your foundation may need to be repaired. Look for these signs:

Ceiling Cracks

Door Cracks

Cracking Around Window Frames

Why Do I Get Drywall Cracks?

Your cracked drywall could be telling you that your home’s foundation needs underpinning, or additional structural support.

Underpinning is the process of providing support to your home’s foundation by installing support piers, like Push Piers or Helical Piers, underneath the foundation.

The support piers are driven down into a layer of stable soil or bedrock, providing a permanent solution to house settling, drywall cracks and other foundation problems. While these cracks can be caused by several other factors – high humidity or poor construction – they can also appear when your foundation needs additional support or underpinning.
